From Challenge to Solution: Alex Suarez's Story
Alex Suarez originally worked as a trustee and corporate auditor, later spending over 20 years as a martial arts teacher.
In his early 30s, he was diagnosed with sleep apnea and prescribed a CPAP device.
Over the next 14 nights, both he and his wife suffered from poor sleep, as the device was noisy and uncomfortable.
Determined to make a change, Alex returned the device, telling his doctor, "Before I use that thing for the rest of my life, I’d rather die 20 years earlier."
He knew he had to change something himself, so he asked his doctor to explain where the problem lay: relaxed muscles and tissues blocking the airways.
Thanks to his experience as a martial arts teacher, he came up with the idea of training his throat muscles.
After a few unsuccessful attempts with various methods, he heard from a student about the Australian didgeridoo.
Fascinated by the movements he observed in his student, he experimented with a modified didgeridoo.
Although the throat movements didn’t have the desired effect, he noticed that the instrument created slight air pressure and vibrations in the throat.
This led to the idea that certain movements with a modified didgeridoo might have an effect.
After reconnecting with his doctor, the doctor agreed to measure Alex again in the sleep lab after his self-experiment.
After three months of training with the medical didgeridoo, the crucial measurement was taken, and the next morning Alex Suarez was declared cured.
From Analog to Digital: Aron Suarez
Aron Suarez was 11 years old when his father was diagnosed with sleep apnea.
It was unusual for him to see his father wearing a CPAP mask.
When his father experimented with a didgeridoo, Aron found it fascinating and wanted to try it himself – this was his first encounter with his father’s invention.
Aron was always interested in technology and wanted to understand how things worked. His career in software development helped him gain the skills that were later necessary for developing Silent Sleep Training.
After the second study, Alex asked his son if he had any ideas on how to make his solution accessible to many people.
That was the starting point for developing Silent Sleep Training.
Today, Aron Suarez is the CEO of the company behind Silent Sleep Training and is bringing his father's vision to life with new technologies.

Silent Sleep Training: Our History and Experience
Silent Sleep Training is based on 10 years of experience and several thousand satisfied customers.
Concept Development (2015)
Alex Suarez and his son Aron developed a concept using an app and a medical didgeridoo equipped with a microphone. This concept was the first step towards natural treatment of sleep apnea without a CPAP device.
2015
Prototype Development (2016)
The first prototype of the app and medical didgeridoo was developed and tested with family and friends. These tests confirmed the potential for effective sleep apnea therapy.
2016
New Approach (2017)
The material of the first didgeridoo didn’t work as expected. We used this experience to develop a new prototype that yielded the best results in treating snoring and sleep apnea.
2017
Regulations (2018)
Once the product was defined, we worked on the necessary regulations, as Silent Sleep Training is a class 1 medical device that meets the highest safety and quality standards.
2018
Market Launch (2019)
After completing production and all regulations, we launched Silent Sleep Training. Shortly after, the COVID-19 pandemic began, presenting new challenges.
2019
Pandemic (2020)
The pandemic hit us hard, as Silent Sleep Training cannot be used for acute respiratory illnesses. Nevertheless, we remained optimistic and used the time to improve the product.
2020
Recovery (2021)
We used the pandemic time to further develop our product and internal processes and continued to pursue our vision.
2021
The Relaunch (2023)
Thanks to the support of friends and family, the project survived the difficult period. We completely redeveloped Silent Sleep Training Version 3 – instrument, packaging, and app were fully improved. **Thanks to everyone who supported us!**
2023
Relaunch (2024)
In early 2024, Version 3 of Silent Sleep Training will be released, offering a natural solution for sleep apnea and snoring to everyone who needs it.
2024
The Origin of Silent Sleep Training: From Idea to Reality
The beginning of Silent Sleep Training was completely analog.
First Study (2003)
After his successful self-experiment, Alex was invited by the University of Zurich to co-author a study to see if others could benefit from his success. The first study showed that the positive effect occurs in other affected individuals when properly trained. Learn more about the results of the first study.
2003
British Medical Journal (2005)
The study was published in the prestigious British Medical Journal and is considered a model study in professional circles. This publication opened doors for global exchanges on sleep apnea treatments.
2005
First Patients (2006)
After the publication, Alex began sharing his knowledge with other affected individuals to help them regain restful sleep. Our first success stories demonstrate the positive impact.
2006
World Sleep Apnea Congress in Seoul (2009)
Alex was invited to the World Sleep Apnea Congress in Seoul to present his therapy. This recognition helped make the therapy known worldwide.
2009
First Instructors (2009)
The first instructors were trained to make Alex Suarez's therapy accessible to more people. Our instructors helped spread the message globally.
2009
Start of the Second Study (2010)
The aim of the second study was to find out what happens in the throats of patients who have been freed from sleep apnea. This was achieved with MRI imaging, providing new insights into the effect of the training.
2010
Completion of the Second Study (2014)
The second study showed that training with the therapy developed by Alex reduced fat deposits by up to 40%, tightened connective tissue, and strengthened muscles. These results confirmed the effectiveness of the training.
2014
Key Decision (2015)
Alex realized that the concept with instructors was not feasible for the many affected individuals. He knew the future of his invention had to be digital. Here his son came into play, who had spent his career in software development. Alex conducted a pilot study with UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) to explore the first attempts at digital patient education. This marked the beginning of the digital future of Silent Sleep Training.
